For my dinner tonight...

Postby Winston Smith » Mon Jun 29, 2009 3:24 pm

...I will be having cold roast chicken, salad and new potatoes. Strawberries and creme fraiche for dessert. Too hot to cook.

I'm having some pan fried salmon with home-made potato salad (first of my allotment potatoes) and salad (from the greenhouse).

And possibly a bottle of cider...
Do it now...before it's too late.....

Alcohol free night for me. I drank far too much last week because I was away on business and the weekend was heavy as per usual.

I was thinking of having salmon tonight as well. It seems to be the only fish we get here that's fresh. Not sure what to have with it though.....

 Actually your suggestions have inspired me. Perhaps I'll coat the fish in Panko breadcrumbs instead of Weetabix and have green beans as a side.

I do not like eating hot foods on summer evenings. I can go for seafood served cold.

I had a feta and apricot salad at about 8pm. Sick of chips, and veggie burgers I tell ya.

I am making penne al salmone this evening. My local Italian restaurant does it, and it's delicious. The sauce has vodka in it :eyebrows:

Anyhoo, never tried making it before but have some lovely wild salmon, so fingers crossed.

Why does every think I am spanish?

I living there but that does not mean I am spanish, I came on holidays 14 years ago and I stayed, called my boss and told him to forget about me and that was that.

But yes we eat late here as its at 6pm just to hot to think about eating, 9-10pm is a better hour

Sometimes I get confuse Dutch with Deutsch. Are you from Holland ? Sometimes you write good English and I used to think you're English but staying in Spain.

Yes I am from Holland. That I write correctly sometimes is that when I have had some english customers then my mind is set to that but when I got spanish, german and some dutch customers in between I writing a posting then my phrase structure is lost

We did this whilst we were in portugal. We were in the pool until about 6.30pm. showered and freshened up and ate our evening meal at 8-10pm. Of course the girls ate earlier due to it being the norm for them to eat at 6-7pm.
You dont feel like eating at 5-6pm as its still warm and your still warm. its much nicer eating an evening meal when its cooler. You can enjoy your meal

Typically during the summer we go to the pool again long after dinner. Last night we went at 10pm. The humidity levels drop considerably by then. Had Pear Cider for dinner last night. :drunk:
