Alicia Silverstone is the latest celebrity to take part in PETA's 'I'd rather go naked' series of posters. Read more...
Good for Alicia. This is a beautiful ad with an important message: wool is cruel. Synthetic and other cruelty-free fibers are more durable, better in wet weather, and will make you feel extra warm and fuzzy because you're not contributing to animal abuse.
Alicia is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Good her for bringing attention to this serious issue.
Great ad! I've seen the videos from inside wool shearing sheds and it is chilling: Sheep being slammed to the ground, sliced open and crudely stitched up with no painkillers, frustrated workers standing on the animals' heads, and more. I'll choose humane ways to keep warm this winter!
I completely agree with Alicia. I stay warm and stylish all winter long in plush fabrics that don't inflict pain and suffering on animals.
Love Alicia and love this ad. People with allergies to wool have been using cotton, cotton flannel, polyester fleece, Tencel, synthetic shearling, and other animal-friendly fibers for years. Vegan wool is easy to find, and it will keep you warm and cozy without contributing to cruelty.
Good for her. It’s a great ad and will hopefully open some eyes about wool production. No one needs wool—except sheep. People can wear humane fabrics like cotton, linen, nylon, rayon, pleather, and polyester.
Wear wool! As if! I have to give her snaps for her courageous fashion efforts.
The problem with ads like this is that I now wish every garment on the earth was wool so that people would go naked.
