Jon Voight calls Trump a 'hero,' citing his 'gifted tongue of truths' and 'true concern for everyone'

Postby Guest » Mon May 11, 2020 2:01 pm

On Monday, the Midnight Cowboy actor posted a video he called, “A Message of Hope,” about Trump’s role in the coronavirus pandemic. He referred to Trump as a “magnificent soul raising up this nation” and a “hero.”

“He’s a true patriot who has fought singlehanded and knocked each poisoner down with his gifted tongue of truths and his true concern for everyone, every citizen,” Voight said. “This is a man with great integrity, this is a man who held his head high, this is a man who took on evil and brought us to light. This is a man, a president who guided his nation and his people on a path to greatness.”

Voight said Trump has had to “fight a war, a war that is bigger than anything our nation has witnessed in our lifetime, though he shielded us and protected us through it. This is what a man of great love does. A man that will protect his country till the end, with dignity, honor, respect and love.”

He added, “Yes, he will go down as the historic president of this millennium.”

It’s getting harder to watch movies with guys like Woods and Jon Voight in them whenever they open their mouths and spout these insane comments in support of their Dear Leader Trump.

Susan Sarandon, James Woods and Jon Voight are the three I detest the most.

Yes. Politics have affected my viewing habits.

Donald Trump is a blithering liar. He never speaks truth about anything, except for his love for himself.

I like Trump and Jon Voight. Biden not so much. But then the first two are coherent.

Nothing tangible has come out of Trump's mouth since he was elected. I know he has done "some" good things, but he also a blabbering idiot with increasingly incoherent speeches and attacks on the media.

Two points; one, when you call a person derogatory names, you've lost the debate. Two, President Trump passed a cognitive acuity test as part of his 2020 medical exam. So far Biden hasn't. Seems we two may differ as to policy preferences only.

Not attacking him personally, just stating half of what he says he contradicts himself and more often than not basic facts. He also cannot seem to hold a press conference in a professional matter.

Much of what Trump said he would do at the last election, he hasn't and just alienating everyone along the way.

His comments on his improvement of the economy are mostly rubbish, look at the trends prior to the 2016 election and continue until about 9mths ago, mostly a straight line but months for CV-19, his sabre rattling with China and EU was starting to have negative consequences.

He said he would boost coal production, meanwhile coal power production continues to decline at the same rate of 2% pa. He said he would bring back car manufacturing, meanwhile the US car companies has closed or will close basically every sedan manufacturing production line with exception of Tesla and foreign car companies making Camry etc. HE said he would bring back base metal manufacturing, he hasn't aluminium production in particular continues to decline.

He only got elected by luck of the dice in electoral votes, not majority vote having nearly 3m less votes, you would think a normal person would realise this and acknowledge your luck and spend the next 4 years trying to win more votes, not pissing people off.

He has never exceeded 50% approval rating for his entire term. Unpopular single term Presidents of the past have polled much better.

Unsurprisingly some of Trump's support base have such low intelligence they swallowed disinfectant following his comments.

Actually, Trump is polling similar if not better than past presidents. Popular vote totals are meaningless. For example, Trump essentially never campaigned in California because he had no chance of winning the state's electoral college delegates. If we had a simple, popular vote, the campaigns world be structured differently, hence potentially different results.

Unlike geographically smaller countries, the USA has diverse states and regions of differing economies (agricultural, financial, mining, energy, technical). The electoral college design just makes certain that the only person elected by the ENTIRE country (the president) has broad appeal.

It's is genius when you understand it.

The system isn't far removed from most democratic countries use where single seats are sized such as they all have similat population in each and very similar to the proportional Hare-Clark system.

The popular vote total is not how he was elected but a warning sign to an incoming leader of how secure your position is, which for Trump is not very. 5% less total votes means its just luck of the electoral vote system that got you there, certainly not embraced by the voters at large. His broad appeal is still limited to 45% of the voters.

As for polling similar to past Presidents, yes he is polling very similar to past single term Presidents.

Yes the options at the last election were not much better and if the Democrats had put up a half decent candidate he wouldn't be there now. Hopefully the world won't have to put up with his ramblings for much longer.

Biden may be "half decent". His other half is the problem.
