using donor eggs 50+ anyone?

Postby JuliaTN » Thu Mar 01, 2018 1:17 am

Hello everyone! I'm 52 and I was diagnosed with menopause. I was recommended to use IVF with donor eggs and I'm ok with it. As I know there is an option to have a donor who has similar appearance. I feel great. I have no chronic illnesses. Everyone says I look 10 years younger. I hope to talk to someone who used donor eggs. It would be nice to hear your recommendation of clinics and doctors, maybe agencies. There are many advertisements, but it's always better to come to a doctor not after seeing advertising, but after hearing a positive reviews. I see many stories about successful IVFs in the age over 45. But it's hard to find stories about using donor eggs in such age. What about age limits in the clinics? As I know all countries have different limits. I dream about having a baby. I think it's time for me to make my dream come true. I hope you'll help me with advice.

I can't help much. I don't have experience with donor eggs. My mom's friend had ivf with donor eggs a couple of years ago. She was 53 and gave birth to twins. As I know she contacted clinic directly and didn't use any agency. She had ivf somewhere in Europe. Also I remember the donor was . and she used fresh eggs. As you've said many clinics have their age limits. I'd advise you to monitor those limits. And then just contact clinics via mail. And also pay attention to success rates. I wish you good luck! It’s never too late to become a mother. I hope you’ll accomplish your dream.

Thank you for your comment. I'm happy to know about the experience of your mom's friend. This is hard to find stories about women over 50 who used donor eggs and successfully gave birth. Your story gives me so much hope. Now I also think that using agencies is just a waste of money. Also I don't want to risk and face a scam. Thank you dear. I will take into consideration everything you've said. I appreciate your support. Many people tell me I'm crazy I want to have children now. They are judging. They are laughing. But this is my life and my decision. They've never been in my shoes. I think all people should mind their own business. I signed up at another forum too. It seemed to me that forum is a community for the most evil people in the world. All I received there was hate and disapproval. They were discussing my menopause with such mockery... That is fertility forum and many women there have problems with having kids... I don't understand what I’ve done to deserve their attitude. They said it's too late for me. I know I shouldn't listen to them... But they made me sad. I didn't expect to receive so much negative from people, who have same problems. I'm sure I will give my child everything he/she will need or want. I’m 100% sure I will be a great mother. I’ll take care of all nuances. I’ll do everything possible(and impossible) for my child to be the happiest in the world. Again, thank you for support. It means a lot for me. I hope I’ll start the process soon.

Hey Julia, age does not count much, when you go for any procedure. I know 52 is much greater age. But when it comes to Ivf through donor eggs. It is just alright. Well one of my colleague had her ivf done last year. She is 47 and it was also done through donor eggs. Now she has a beautiful daughter. This is a perfect example from my side to quote here. She went to ukraine for this. As a lot of success stories are associated with that. I am also going to have my surrogacy done from that clinic next month. So, i can highly recommend you that clinic. Rest is up to you. You can gather information about different clinics from internet also. All the best. Many prayers for you. Do also inform us, when you go through it. As a lot of females want to know about this process.

Hey, I hope you are doing fine. It might be a little difficult. Donor eggs might help you conceive. But your age might cause some issues.
At this age our body gets weak. You should confirm it from a doctor if your body is healthy enough to conceive. I respect your wish though. You should find a nice doctor.
A good doctor will help you out with all the complications. I would suggest you the clinic that I went to. The team was great. They treated me in a very nice way.
They have treated many women with cases similar to yours. They will provide you with the donor eggs too. They have a whole database of donors from which you can choose.
Do let me know if you need any details.

I second you, totally. In today's time pregnancy is possible at this age with assisted fertility but then it all depends on the reproductive vitals of the candidate. And gestation though is a very happy and fulfilling thing... it needs more than the willingness to get pregnant to go a full term. I'd totally recommend checking all the possibilities that one is able to bear children at the are of 50+ to go for donor conception. If there's any inconsistency I'm afraid surrogacy is the only way. Provided the age-related deterioration haven't caused her SO's sperm fragmentation. It's a requirement everywhere around the globe that for surrogacy that the male or either of the male of expected parents has viable sperms to be the biological father of the surrogate child. Once these are sorted I don't think there will be much trouble in finding a suitable donor or a surrogate.

Check out or mail eggdonationfriends, they list almost all IVF in the world that offer IVF DE and have the best knowledge about max age that is accepted by clinics.

Hi there, I have no experience with this specific donor conception case so I'm not sure my advice or opinion counts. Yes, you're right 40+ women do have success with IVF these days. Also during my infertility treatment all these years I've met many women who've had DE+IVF and got to know some details that might help. Firstly, look for a clinic that specialises in menopausal IVF... for it's not just the egg that matters. In person, reviews are definitely the best option you have than comparing website info and viewing _ reviews. So besides the donor egg age limit, you also need to also search a right clinic. If there's really no health issues diagnosed with you then chances are it'll be easy to find success with DE+IVF. I wish you all the luck to get a baby and stay optimistic for all the while.
