Took a wrong turn on the way there, the company I was due to be working for were based right out in the sticks. Anyhow ended up on some sort of country lane that was little more than a farm track panicking, and the end result was that I was really late, the car was splattered with mud, I was splattered with mud and I managed to crunch it into a little wall :-( fortunately little damage done to the car, but pride and composure was in pieces)

I'll bet they were!

Where was this wall, and how did you manage to bump into it?

Had you had the car long? I'm guessing not ...

No, the car was just my first runaround, nothing special but I learned in it too. the wall was on one side of the road, basically I had wall one side and hedge the other and was trying to turn round realizing I'd gone wrong and in my panic I was attempting to reverse as part of the turn around and hit the wall with the rear wing/corner

then I had an old Corsa, wasn't the easiest thing to drive and at the time I was in a bit of a state so my car control was worse even than the "new driver" norm!

Were you also wearing stilettos with platform soles?
Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece.

Ha ha ... no. I never drive in heels ... always flats. And I've never owned a pair of stilettos with platform soles. In fact, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever owned a pair of platform soles at all ...

I had a pair of platforms once, but I can't remember if I ever tried driving with them on....

It's not easy to drive in heels, platforms or not. Takes some practice :) I can do it but I prefer driving wihtout heels.

The seat belt gave me a nasty shoulder injury which took a long time to heal ... but I'm OK now. It was nearly 10 years ago ...

You were ok that's the main thing, your pride is easily fixed.
