Newbie

Postby BeckyTheBest » Wed Apr 11, 2018 6:48 pm

Was looking for an introductions section but couldn't find one.

So, um, hi from Coventry.

Hi! There seem to be a lot of Brits on here. I'm from Manchester but currently living in Wales for uni.

We've had a lot of newbies who aren't what they seem. I think you're ok so far. Especially as you're a Corbyn supporter. :P

Incidentally, anyone heard from Dan? He seems AWOL. :?

I just joined here because I happened to find it while looking for forums and it interested me. I like this forum because every topic doesn't descend into political chaos, sexism, racism and mud throwing at the other "team" like male-orientated sites frequented by teenagers and men who act like teenagers do.

Give it time. We have our flash points. But many of us have been here a long time so have argued about it all before.

I agree that it's a good mix of men and women though.

 It wouldn't be a forum without some flash points! Mostly I like it because in male-orientated spaces, they say the most sexist (both about women AND men) stuff without even realizing it.

Just be aware that some of the sections of the board "down below" are um..... not quite the same. The sex sections and fashion sections are full of men pretending to be women.

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. I'm not really here to discuss sex anyway. I'm not adverse to it if something catches my attention, but its not the most interesting topic for me.

But we could do with some more positive input “down below” too. So don’t be put off venturing down there.

given that we seem to be talking about talking about sex (although goodness knows how my little thread to say "hi" turned into that quite so quickly) ... I'm wondering whether the double entendre there was intentional or not

I'm old enough that I took early retirement last year, and then went back to uni ... so I'm currently a mature student.

Cool. College/university lecturing is something I'd maybe consider in the future but I don't think I'd be able to handle a classroom of kids.

He is spending 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness as penance for finally realising that Corbyn is a c*nt after all. It's not easy being a socialist fuckwit. Imagine the thought processes involved...it must be torture.
