Glastonbury 2009

Postby mogadishu » Sat Jun 27, 2009 3:41 pm

I wish I was back there this year. Have watched the highlights for Friday and it looked fantastic - Lady Gaga and Neil Young were probably among the best acts. The absolute best were Fleet Foxes - an incredible Beach Boys - like folk group. Spinal Tap are on today (!) and Bruce Springsteen is headlining this evening.

Bruce Springsteen was dire. But then I have always thought he was vastly overrated anyhow. The musical version of Mogadon.
Those who give up their freedoms for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.

I narrowly missed out on getting to Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young concerts over here back in the mid 80s - looking at the costs these days I just wish I had put in that extra effort to attend them back then...

The prices of those big acts by the time they arrive down here are maybe double, nowadays, in proportion to average incomes, compared with 20-25 years ago..

A bit harder to justify, unless for a special occasion, or a special person.

I don't know.... I quite liked the way he kept running into the audience. Simple things..... I didn't realise he was that hot.

Wasn't it Blur (I'd possibly consumed alcohol by this point  )

Someone jumped past the pap and to the normal crowd and guy tailing behind with the mike lead got pissy (Can't recall who, had the idea of Blur in my head though)
