Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

Anyway, I don't care about this 'rule of six' bollocks. It was my old Mum's birthday today and we had quite a few family members over to mark the occasion. I knew that as we raised our glasses to her, she would be looking down on us and smiling.
I really must get that stairlift fixed.

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

I think I've been to Oadby, or was it Narborough? Are they nearby? As the crow flies Narborough, whetstone, blaby, South Wigston, Wigston, Oadby. We're on the edge of blaby, Glen Parva. Nearer to south wigston than Narborough. I drove down the M1 this afternoon, right by Leicester. It was OK though...

London is rumoured to fall soon.

P.S. Get well soon, Lucy.

P.P.S. A post of mine is off for moderation.

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

Just back from a week in the Scarborough / Whitby area. It's a lovely part of the world with lovely people, but going to a pub or trying to eat in a restaurant is a pain in the arse due to form filling and reduced capacity within establishments. Mind you, in Oxford a couple of Saturday's ago, two pu...

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

An interesting read I think: Dr Malcolm Kendrick 4th September 2020 COVID – why terminology really, really matters [And the consequences of getting it horribly wrong] When is a case not a case? Since the start of the COVID pandemic I have watched almost everyone get mission critical things wrong. In...

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

How so? How so that it's about time the patriarchy was dismantled (to use a phrase I don't like but which hits the nail on the head) and that a more equal inclusive society is established? I can't see why anyone would not want that. I'm not sure what you are asking me otherwise. I see. I thought yo...

Yes exactly. The postal vote will be interesting.

Trump or Biden?

I don't mean who do you prefer, I mean who do you think will win? I reckon Biden and co are so awful that incredibly a second term will be gifted to Trump, despite what the opinion polls are currently saying.

Re: Global Warming and Natural Disasters.

Anything can. I just think it would be a pointless waste of time. Who are the "experts" claiming that global warming is real? Just follow the money, like with covid. I trust scientific experts 10x more than you. Maybe I would consider listening if it wasn't for the fact that you deny all ...

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

It all gets weirder by the minute. The subtle change in reporting from deaths to cases , as if they were exactly the same thing. The mayor of London is getting worried because workers aren't commuting in big enough numbers, hence causing problems for the local economy. His solution is to plead for p...

Re: Coronavirus Survival Tips, Rumours and Hearsay

My hairdresser reports drastically reduced trade. He said there was an initial rush when they reopened but customers are staying away now and other hairdressers report the same. Possibly some people found they could do their own or bought the clippers and want their money’s worth. I was the only cu...

Re: Last movie you watched?

I saw 'Us' recently on Netflix or maybe NowTV. It was very good... not what I was expecting. A kind of horror film, but with lashings of weirdness.
