Re: Infertility treatment on the NHS

Some occupations appear to be beyond criticism. Nursing is one and firefighting is the other. It really grinds my gears. Nurses have the unbending goodwill of the bulk of the public. It is a shitty and thankless job. There are lots of good ones and lots who aren’t . Their professional organisations...

Re: Infertility treatment on the NHS

Both Chud's and Lucy's cases are very worrying. I think the NHS often sees a relative or carer with an elderly person and then decides they don't have to make them a priority. I hear what Chud's is saying, and I have seen some examples of appalling waste in the NHS. But even without that, funds are...

No. Just not possible.

Becoming a rugby referee altered the way I watched the game forever.

Re: What are you getting done this weekend?

I went to a 100th birthday party last night. A smashing old chap , ex Japanese POW . Lovely family. I marvel at the inner strength and resolve of some people in adversity. Lots of laughter and fun. I’m glad I was there...they are having a big buffet lunch for him tomorrow as well.

Re: Infertility treatment on the NHS

The health service is beyond saving. Economies here will not provide money there. Its problem is that it’s administration is a tangled , unco-ordinated Gordian knot. In excess of £20 bill was spent and yet vanished into thin air on the ill starred computerisation programme which was intended, primar...

I haven’t eaten kale for years. I remember it as a bit tough and fibrous. It’s cow food really.

Irrespective of whatever system is deployed if everyone pays what they should then we would all be further forward.

Re: Tax/NI ..... Do you understand it?

I am a believer in the tax system. All respect to the rank and file who work and contribute without demur. Particularly to the self employed who brave the Admin minefield. The shame of this country, condoned by both major parties is the closed world of tax deals , which simply isn’t right , fair or ...

I admit to being mystified that he can walk into a meeting saying one thing but walk out saying something else.
