What would tear up distributor teeth? Cam or Oil Pump?

Google says this is a more common problem than you might think https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=118 ... Vhxuz8ytRE

But it should be an easy fix by a Ford dealer

Its a pretty quirky thing and odd, common yes but usually after weeding everything else out. I have a 4t4 Chevy engine, great big thing, but I think this is my issue. Incidentally, no dummy lights came on the dash board to tell me something is wrong with oil flow, had to find out by chewed up distributor teeth. Thanks again for your assistance.

I would defer to kingy. Mine was just based on the things I knew it attached to and how, not knowable about the finer points thereafter.
