Re: emabarrassing car moments

Were you also wearing stilettos with platform soles? Ha ha ... no. I never drive in heels ... always flats. And I've never owned a pair of stilettos with platform soles. In fact, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever owned a pair of platform soles at all ... reminds me of Alicia Silverstone,...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

then I had an old Corsa, wasn't the easiest thing to drive and at the time I was in a bit of a state so my car control was worse even than the "new driver" norm!

Re: emabarrassing car moments

No, the car was just my first runaround, nothing special but I learned in it too. the wall was on one side of the road, basically I had wall one side and hedge the other and was trying to turn round realizing I'd gone wrong and in my panic I was attempting to reverse as part of the turn around and h...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

I did manage to damage my car on the way to my first day in a new job once, but in my defence I was 19 and had been driving only for a very short time, v embarrassing though  I'll say it's embarrassing!!! What did you do?? Took a wrong turn on the way there, the company I was due to be workin...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

It was indeed horrid ... all the blood going to my head giving me a massive headache ... and my principal thought being "I wonder if my fuel system is still intact: and if it's not, exactly how long do I have to get out of here???" I can imagine! esp if you were trapped in your seat and c...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

I wasn't going that fast ... no more than 40 (and a lot slower than that by the time it rolled ... ) It was a great long straight bit of road that I'd normally have been driving at 60 ... but I was driving slower than normal in view of the weather conditions. Just didn't get it right this time ... ...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

the only time I've crashed I felt similar, but mine was at a relatively lower speed that what yours must have been if you fishtailed multiple times, terrifying. Good job somebody stopped to help you out of the car, and could get you out without needing the fire brigade!

Re: emabarrassing car moments

Well, basically, I just sorta missed the bit of road I was aiming at. I don't really know what caused it, but the back end of the car just slid out, and after about five fishtails as I fought to control it, I was going over the verge on the opposite side of the road, and rolled into a dirty great d...

Re: emabarrassing car moments

They don't get much more embarrassing than the day I ended up in a ditch, hanging upside-down from my seat belt, and needed to be rescued by a kindly passing motorist. NOT the best day to be wearing my 13" pleated denim mini ... OMG!! that's sounds terrifying and very embarrassing! :oop...

Re: Silliest thing you've tried to do wearing high heels?

After a few minutes I was ok with the Porsche, just needed to adjust the amount of force I used on the pedals, if would have helped if it was an auto ! As for heels generally, obviously straight away I tried 3 inch heels and couldn’t walk in them but after practicing walking in smaller heels I can ...
